Weed management is not restful, it is an endless war. They appear in different forms and also have their own solidity. Although many of them may seem very pretty, they are harmful to the health of your lawn.
The longer you wait to get rid of weeds, the more they will spread and make damage.
You may be surprised in what kind of environment, weeds can grow. There is a way to remove them without using pesticides, as long as you purchase a weed removal tool. These tools help to remove weed roots without adding stress to the grass.
Each tool has their own particularity. The most important thing is that you’re comfortable with it. In my case, I use a small removal hand tool because of the low damage they do after removing the weeds.
The Tool
The best way to limit the damage I found, is to introduce the tool directly to the root of weeds and break up the ground without cutting the root. It will create space around the root and this way, you will safely remove the weeds including the longest root as possible.
The image below shows exactly what not to do, cutting the root of the weed at the base of the plant. The reason is that it will be more difficult to remove as the root is still in the ground and it will grow back if not fully removed. In this situation, locate the root of the weed, dig a small hole around it and remove it all.
